Activist Navdeep Kaur has got bail from the Punjab-Haryana High Court. Navdeep was arrested from the Singhu border on 12 January.

The organization of 24-year-old Navdeep, a Dalit labor rights activist and a member of the Workers ‘Rights Organization (MAS), is one of the workers’ unions who are part of demonstrations with farmers against the new agricultural laws of the Center.

Navdeep Kaur was working part-time in a factory in Kundli Industrial Area to collect money for her further education. During this time she joined the Labor Union and was actively raising her voice.

According to her sister Rajveer, “On December 28, when she and other members of the MAS were demanding their outstanding salaries, the protesters were fired. The police also registered a counter FIR against the protesters. On January 12, another protest took place, after which Navdeep was targeted, arrested, and charged with attempted murder and extortion. ”

On January 12, Navdeep was accused of leading a group of 50-60 men in the FIR after police intercepted the members of the MAS.

Navdeep Kaur is a native of the Muktsar district of Punjab, where her mother also works actively for the Punjab Khet Union.
