Australian team for West Indies Tour: The ODI and T20 teams of the Australia Cricket Team have been announced for the West Indies tour. In the Australian team 23-member squad, many legendary players have been included. Aaron Finch will captain the team.
All the 8 players who did not participate in the series against New Zealand in March have been included in this team. Players such as Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Alex Carrie, and Mitchell Swapson have found a place in the team.
The Australian team does not include Marnus Labuschen and Cameron Green. Marnus Labuschen is currently playing county cricket in England. Whereas Cameron Green has said that he wants to work on his bowling right now.
National selector Trevor Hohns has said that this team has been announced keeping in mind the preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This is the reason that three leg spinners have been selected in the team and finger spinner Ashton Egger has also been included.
Australia will play five T20 and three ODIs in the West Indies. The Kangaroo team will tour the West Indies after five years. The Australian team will play eight matches in two weeks against the West Indies from 9 to 24 July in St Lucia and Barbados, a crucial preparation for the T20 World Cup to be played later this year.
