Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has released its list of candidates for the West Bengal assembly elections. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself has released the list and said that she will contest from Nandigram this time. TMC has released a list of a total of 291 candidates, out of which 51 women candidates have been given tickets.

Announcing the candidates, Mamata Banerjee said,

Today we are releasing a list of 291 candidates, including 51 women candidates and 42 Muslim candidates. I will contest from Nandigram.

Mamta Banerjee announced that her party will contest elections on 291 seats, and in the remaining three seats of Darjeeling, other parties will be given a chance. 51 female candidates, 42 Muslim candidates, 79 SC candidates and 17 ST candidates have been given tickets by TMC.

Cricketer Manoj Tiwari gets tickets

Recently, cricketer Manoj Tiwari, who joined TMC, will contest this time. He has been given ticket from Shibpur. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee used to contest from the Bhawanipur seat before which, now Sowanadeb Chatterjee will be in the fray.

Apart from this, Filmstar Sayantika from Bankura, Singer Aditi Munshi has been given Rajarhat, Chandrima Bhattacharya has been given Kanchan Malikko from North Dum Dum, Uttarpada.

Many MLAs did not get tickets

Mamta Banerjee today released the list of her candidates by holding a press conference but about 28 current MLAs have not got tickets this time.

Voting will be done in 8 phases for 294 assembly seats in West Bengal. Voting will be held on March 27, April 1, April 6, April 10, April 17, April 22, April 26 and April 29, and on May 2, it will be known who will be the next government in Bengal.
