The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has reported that new cases of corona virus have increased in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, with 81.25% new cases of corona virus coming from these eight states.

Highest case in 6 months

In the country, the situation regarding Covid is deteriorating rapidly. In just 24 hours, 81,466 new cases have been reported, which is the largest daily figure since October 2020. With this, the total number of cases has increased to 1,23,03,131 on Friday. The country is registering an increase in cases for 3 consecutive weeks. New corona cases are increasing daily in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The country has suffered the first wave of infection 6 months ago and during that time, on September 16, the maximum number of 93,617 cases were reported in one day and on September 15, the maximum number of 1,169 deaths were recorded.
Again, seeing the situation like before, the Center has advised the states and Union Territories with more cases to take tough measures to prevent the epidemic.

At the same time, 6.87 crore corona vaccine doses have been given in the country so far under the mass vaccination campaign started on 16 January.
