Scientists have made a big disclosure about the Earth. According to this, the earth is now rotating faster on its axis than in the last 50 years. Scientists believe that due to the change in this speed that has come in the last 5 decades, every day on the earth is starting to decrease by 24 hours.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, from the year 2021, every day the earth is rotating on its axis in less than 24 hours. Not only this, 19 July 2021 proved to be the shortest day since 1960 after the data being collected by scientists about the movement of the Earth.
July 19 was the shortest day
According to data submitted by scientists of the Paris-based International Earth Rotation Service, the day of July 19, 2021, was 1.46 milliseconds less than 24 hours. Earlier, the shortest day was in 2005, but in the last 12 months, these records have been broken a total of 28 times.

Scientists are claiming that if seen as an average, now a day has reduced from a valid 24 hours to 0.5 seconds. In such a situation, many scientists are also considering whether one second should be reduced from time to time.
This process is called ‘negative leap second’. This can be done to maintain the changes in time and the connection of time with the speed of the earth.
What will be the problem due to fast movement of the earth
Along with the speed of the Earth, our standards of time are also fixed. If there are major changes in the speed of the Earth, then the calculation of time will also have to be changed.
Also, our communication system may face problems. This is because satellites and communication devices are set according to solar time. These times are fixed according to the position of stars, moon and sun.

By the way, 27 leap seconds have been added since the year 1970. This has to be done due to small changes in the speed of the Earth. The leap second was last added on 31 December 2016. Now, however, the time has come to remove the leap second, a negative leap second will have to be added.
