International Day of Light 2022: Current Theme, History, Quotes, Images, and Drawings to mark the anniversary of the first successful operation of the laser
Annually May 16 is observed as International Day of Light around the world to mark the anniversary the first successful operation of the laser in 1960 by American physicist and engineer, Theodore Maiman.
To mark his invention, Mainman flashed a white ray into a cylinder of ruby and energized electrons into chromium. The energized green and blue wavelengths were absorbed and then amplified the red wavelengths until the light pulse of the ruby was intensified to high force, outcome in a laser.
International Day of Light is a call to strengthen scientific cooperation and harness its potential to encourage peace and sustainable development.
