Actor-turned-politician Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan has targeted the Modi government at the Center for the ever-increasing inflation in the country. He has called it a surgical strike on the people by the Central Government. With this, Haasan said that rising inflation will further increase poverty in the country.

Poverty will increase in the country

MNM) Chief Kamal Haasan tweeted in the Tamil language, ‘Petrol and diesel prices are increasing day by day. The price of LPG cylinder has also increased by Rs 75 a month. This is a surgical strike by the Central Government on the people. This reckless trend will further increase the prices of essential commodities and increase poverty.

Gas cylinder prices will increase from today

The inflation since the Corona epidemic is not taking the name of stopping. After the increase in the price of diesel-petrol on Sunday, domestic LPG gas cylinder will now be costlier by Rs 50 in Delhi. There has been a tremendous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.

Let me tell you that even though the government is citing the inflation of crude oil in the international market, the reality is that we are paying more than Rs 88 for petrol of Rs 29.34 a liter. Talking about diesel, its base price in Delhi was only Rs 30.55 on February 1, while on this day it was selling at Rs 76.48 a liter.

That’s why prices are increasing

In fact, in India where the central government on diesel and petrol charges more than Rs 32 per liter as excise duty, the state governments are filling their treasury out of people’s pockets by levying VAT and cess. Apart from this, freight and dealer’s commission are also added on both the oils, which are charged from the general public. If we talk about the tax levied on petrol and diesel by the state governments, in Rajasthan, VAT on petrol is 36% and on diesel 26%. Here first VAT was charged.
