Kantara Earns Rs 400 Crore at Box Office, Read to know what Rishab Shetty made from the movie

Well, all credit goes to Kantara and its lead actor Rishab Shetty for getting Kannada cinema national recognition again after “KGF” and “777 charlie”. Now, after almost two months of its theatrical release and gaining massive success, the movie is available on OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. In the recent times, movies like 777 Charlie, KGF: Chapter 2 along with Kantara have revolutionized the Kannada film industry and put it on the map, unlike other regional cinemas.

Kantara is based on the mythical demigod and how he protects the local land from evil. Quite a different concept from the regular movie plotline. That is the reason why the public loved it as it offered something that most movies are unable to. The film turned out to be a massive blockbuster at the box office. The movie’s main antagonist Deputy Range Forest Officer Murali portrayed by Kishore is against the lead actor played by Rishab Shetty and is depicted as a negative character but later it turns out as a positive end who teams up the Rishab Shetty puts everything to an end. As per reports, he earned ₹1 crore for playing the role.

Other actors including Pramod portray the role of Sudhakara in the movie, who has also been a part of many notable film like “Kirik Party” took home ₹60 lakh for playing his role in the movie. Achyuth Kumar, who was also a part of the hit KGF 2 portrays the role of the king’s descendant. He is the actual negative lead in the movie, as per several media reports, he charged ₹40 lakh for his role.

The main lead Rishab Shetty who also worked as a director of the movie received ₹4 crores to play the lead in the movie. The overall budget of the movie was ₹16 crores and garnered ₹406.75 crores from theatres.
