Land Records of Farmers for Residential Plots To Be Verified In Greater Noida

In the latest development, the Noida officials will soon verify the documents of land for farmers who will be eligible for the residential plots. Their land was earlier acquired for other commercial infrastructure projects. As of now, the verification process is being done as well as eligible farmers are identified after a lot of cases came out of the allegation of corruption regarding their leasing as per sources.

Additionally, the UP government also made a detailed probe into the charges of allegations in 

which ineligible farmers got residential plots in the leasing process in 2009-10. After that, the state government instructed the Greater Noida authority to carry out the ‘lease back’ of residential plots to only people who are eligible after the verified documentation.

Based on the special investigation team (SIT) probe formed in 2018, the UP government in 2021 instructed the concerned authority to lease back all the eligible [plots to the designated farmers. 

“We have asked all farmers to submit their documents so that the authority can examine them and take necessary action,” said Ritu Maheshwari, the chief executive officer (CEO), of Greater Noida authority.

Out of 32 villages, 1,451 farmers were eligible for the residential plots with the help of the leaseback process. This land will be available for use by the farmers, said officials.

As per officials, camps for verification will be organized by the authority from 12 pm to 2 pm at its Knowledge Park-IV administrative office on November 21, 23, 25, 28, 29, 30, December 2, and 5 for the farmers of the 32 villages.

For the leaseback process, the farmers must fill in details on the land records along with the identity cards, proof of land acquired, land acquisition papers, and the total area acquired by the authority.
