Masik Shivratri December 2021: According to the Hindu calendar, the Masik Shivratri festival is celebrated every month on the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha. On the day of Shivratri, the devotees observe a fast by worshipping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. It is a religious belief that by performing monthly Shivratri, the seeker gets the desired results.

The Masik Shivratri of December 2021 will be observed on Thursday, December 2.

Significance and Importance

Both Pradosh Vrat and Shiva Ratri are rituals of fasting and worship of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Lord Shiva had incarnated on the day of Shivaratri. This day is considered the festival of the union of Shiva and Shakti. Worshipping Shiva Parvati on the day of Shivaratri fulfils all the wishes of devotees.

Shivratri is considered to be the best day to get the blessings of Lord Bholenath. Lord Shiva is pleased by fasting and worshipping on this day and takes away all the troubles from his devotees. It is believed that fasting on this day ends the problems of life and happiness and prosperity remain in the house.

According to astrology, unmarried girls and boys must observe the monthly Shivratri fast. The person who observes this fast gets married soon. Married women also get good luck.

Masik Shivratri December 2021 Puja Vidhi

On this day, getting up early in the morning at Brahma Muhurta, first of all, remember Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Now clean the house and take bath with water containing Gangajal. After that, worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati with milk, curd, panchamrit, fruits, flowers, incense, lamp, cannabis, datura, and bilva leaves.

After this, do aarti and say your wish to Lord Shiva. As per your capacity, keep fast throughout the day. If the fast wishes, one can drink fruit and water once a day. In the evening, do aarti and offer fruit.

On the next day, after completing the worship, break the fast. After this give charity to the needy and brahmins. Take food only after that.

Make tilak with sandalwood and offer dhatura, bel leaves, and incense sticks.

After reciting Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Shiv Chalisa, Om Namah Shivaya 108 times, complete the worship by performing aarti.

Samagari

The essential materials used in the worship like Ganga water, milk, ghee, honey, curd, vermilion, sugar, rose water, sandalwood, datura, bel leaves, incense sticks, white flowers, etc.
