MCA course duration reduced by 1 year, to be of 2 years now: AICTE – education
The duration of the Masters of Pc Software (MCA) has been reduced from three years to two years. The choice was taken within the 545th Assembly of the College Grant Fee (UGC) held in December 2019. From the 2021-21 tutorial session, MCA will be taught for 2 years.

As per the notification, college students who’ve handed BCA/ Bachelor Diploma in Pc Science Engineering or equal diploma or handed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Arithmetic at 10+2 stage or at commencement stage (with further bridge programs as per the norms of the involved College) obtained not less than 55% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved class) within the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the MCA course.
“In view of the above, needed modification within the course duration of the MCA program might please be made in conformity with the UGC choice and provisions contained in AICTE APH for A.Y 2021-21,” reads the official notification.
