Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy Biography in English, Hindi and Bengali: After Prafulla Chandra Ghosh, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy sat in the seat of the Chief Minister of the West Bengal. He was the second Chief Minister of the West Bengal. July 1 is very important for his Followers and doctors of the country, Because on this day Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was born in 1882, Patna (Bihar). Bidhan Chandra Roy made West Bengal with his own hands. Kolkata’s air connectivity with the Durgapur-Asansol or North-East developed from the port of Calcutta as an industrial area. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy laid the foundation of everything.
He gain his primary education from the village school. Later he got admission in T.K Ghosh Academy and Patna Collegiate School. After, competing his school education, he moved to Calcutta for higher studies. After completing his studies in Calcutta, he reached England. After many years living in foreign, he returned to Calcutta to start his career here. He was a professor of medicine at Carmichael Medical College for some time.
In 1923 Bidhan Chandra Roy involved in politics with the help of Deshbandhu. He responded to Mahatma Gandhi’s call and joined the Congress. He was the Chief Minister of West Bengal for 14 years until his death on 14 January 1947, representing the Indian National Congress party.
Besides being a professional politician, he was also a skilled physician (doctor). Needless to say, a doctor’s job is not just about making money. The lives of thousands of people depend on him. So this is also a responsibility. In that case, his medical skills were famous all over the world. He also treated former Late US President John F. Kennedy.
Bidhan Chandra Roy has fought with the Center for the first mountaineering education center in Darjeeling, Kolkata as well as Haldia River Port, Farakka Barrage, Durgapur-Asansol Industrial Area and everything to beautify Durgapur. He also talked about drainage system during his tenure as mayor and education bill during his tenure as vice-chancellor of Calcutta University. Needless to say, the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Bidhan Chandra Roy, built the state with his life.
