Rafale Deal: SC to hear allegations of corruption, a new petition

According to the report, disturbances in the Rafale fighter jet deal were first detected by the French Anti-Corruption Agency AFA after the signing of this deal in 2016.

Rafael is not taking the name of the controversy over the deal. Now the Supreme Court is going to hear a PIL on the alleged corruption in the Rafale fighter jet deal. This hearing will be held after two weeks.

ML Sharma is a lawyer petitioner. Sharma has demanded an independent inquiry from the Supreme Court. This petition has been filed after the new charges on the 2016 deal. The new allegations said that Dassault Aviation, the company making Rafale, had given 1.1 million euros to an Indian middleman.

What are the new charges?

The French news website MediaPart has published an article called Rafael Papers. This report claimed that Dasso had to pay one million euro ‘as a gift’ to a middleman in India.

MediaPart reported, “With this controversial deal, Dassau also agreed to pay one million euros to a middleman, who is now facing investigations in India related to another defense deal.”

According to the report, disturbances in the Rafale fighter jet deal were first detected by the French Anti-Corruption Agency AFA after the signing of this deal in 2016.

Dassau had given this money to the Indian company Defsys Solutions. Sushen Gupta, who runs DefSys, was also arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the investigation of the Augusta-Westland chopper procurement scam in 2019.
