Rahman and Kailash Kher collaborate to bring the essence of Punjab’s ‘mitti di khushboo’ to Mumbai

Mumbai, March 28 (IANS) Oscar and Grammy-winning music composer A.R. Rahman wowed the audience with a special performance alongside playback singer Kailash Kher in Mumbai. The event took place at the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai’s Bandra area on Thursday.

The trailer launch of the film saw Rahman, director Imtiaz Ali, global superstar Diljit Dosanjh, and actress Parineeti Chopra coming together. This film marks Rahman and Imtiaz’s collaboration after nine years, following their last project, ‘Tamasha.’

Rahman, Kailash Kher, and singer Yashika Sikka performed the song ‘Bol mohabbat seene la, Rabba Rabba seene la’ live with fellow musicians. The performance was electric, showcasing the talent and chemistry between the artists on stage.

The film is based on the legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, known for his captivating live performances that resonated with the masses. Imtiaz Ali praised Chamkila as a man of the people, highlighting his immense popularity and influence in Punjab.

‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on April 12, bringing the story of the iconic Punjabi artist to a global audience. The event was a testament to the musical and cultural richness that the film promises to deliver.
