Samsung India recently launched the Samsung Galaxy M02s in the Indian market, strengthening its smartphone presence in the Rs 10,000 range. The Galaxy M02S was launched in Nepal before India. The Samsung Galaxy M02s has Qualcomm’s Octa-core processor and a 5000 mAh battery. The Galaxy M02s also have a triple rear camera setup. The Galaxy M02s 3GB + 32GB variant is priced at Rs 8,999 and the 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at Rs 9,999. Let’s know in the review that is it really a good phone in the range of 10 thousand rupees?
Samsung Galaxy M02s Review: Design
Regarding design, Samsung has used its own Galaxy A series pattern with Samsung Galaxy M02s. The Galaxy M02s have a diamond cut on the back panel with excellent gripping and no fingerprints. The design of the display of the Galaxy M02s is curved and the display has a V notch called the Samsung Infinity V display. The phone has a lower and single speaker and a speaker just above the notch.
There is a triple camera setup and flash light in a rectangular shape on the back panel. The 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, the Type-C charging port, the volume button with the power button on the right and the SIM card slot in the left have been replaced. Fingerprint sensor is not provided in the phone. The phone weighs 196 grams and the size is also compact. We have no complaints with the Galaxy M02s in terms of design.
Samsung Galaxy M02s Review: Display
The Samsung Galaxy M02s features a 6.5-inch HD Plus TFT display with a resolution of 720×1560 pixels. The colors of the display are good and touch is also good with it. The display gets a little bezel at the bottom while the bezel at the top and top is very low. The design of the display is curved. Panda glass has been used for the protection of the display.
Widewine L-1 is also supported with the phone. In such a situation, you can watch Amazon Prime Video and Netflix HD videos in this budget phone too. We did not face any problem with the display regarding gaming. The display is decent even in bright sunlight and the viewing angle is also good.
Samsung Galaxy M02s Review: Camera
Talking about the camera, the Samsung Galaxy M02s has a triple rear camera setup in which the main lens is 13 megapixels, while the second lens is a 2 megapixel depth sensor and the third lens is a 2 megapixel macro.
For selfie, Samsung has given a 5 megapixel camera in this phone. The camera is accompanied by features such as Auto HDR, Live Focus Macro Mode, Wide Angle, 8X Digital Zoom, Smart Selfie. Both the rear and front cameras of the Galaxy M02S allow you to record full HD (1920×1080 pixels) video.
You can click good pictures with the camera in good light. Exposures are also fair. There is no separate night mode with the camera, so in low light you may have some problems. Many times the shots are delayed when the photo is clicked at night. Selfie camera may not be called the best but selfie camera in its range will be called average.
Samsung Galaxy M02s Review: Hardware and Software
The phone has a Snapdragon 450 processor, which is a four-year-old budget processor. It was launched by Qualcomm in 2017. It is accompanied by an Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. The phone will get 32/64 GB of storage with 3/4 GB of RAM, which can be increased to 1 TB with the help of memory card. The Galaxy S02S offers Android 10 based One UI Core Version 2.5. Apps like Dailyhunt, Amazon and Phone Pay are available pre-installed, although Samsung has reduced the blotware to a great extent this time.
Although the processor is old but the performance is good. During continuous use for a week, we did not face the problem of lagging or heating with the phone. There is no problem in multitasking, browsing, video streaming, app switching, etc. But if there is a heavy app in the background like Call of Duty, Asphalt is open, then there is a lag in app switching. The speaker and audio quality is good. So overall it is a good phone in your budget.
Samsung Galaxy M02s Review: Battery and Connectivity
It has a 5000mAh battery which supports 15W quick charge. Apart from this, the phone has features like 4G, Bluetooth, headphone jack and GPS. For charging, Samsung has given Type-C port keeping in mind the trend. The phone has a triple card slot i.e. you will be able to use two SIM cards together with a memory card. The phone has a 7.5 watt adapter in the box, which takes 2 hours and 20 minutes to fill the battery. Battery backup is good. During the review, the battery supported us throughout the day.
So overall, the Samsung Galaxy M02s is a decent phone with brand value in its price. Samsung has not taken care of the market in terms of processor. Smartphones such as Realme Narzo 20A and Redmi 9 Prime are present in this range, which have strong processors like Snapdragon 660 and Helio G80 respectively.
