Sonakshi Sinha is the youngest daughter of Actor and Politician, Shatrughan Sinha and Ms Poonam Sinha. Sonakshi was born on June 2, 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the youngest of three children with two twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha.

Sonakshi Sinha started schooling in Smt. Nathibai Damodar Thakarsi Mahila Vidyapeeth. She started her stint in Bollywood with the much acclaimed “Dabang” opposite Mr Salman Khan. She was appreciated for her role as a village belle who made earthen pots. Sonakshi Sinha played the role with aplomb and also won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress.

Sonakshi Sinha completed her schooling at Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai and graduated in Fashion Designing from Shrimati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Sonakshi Sinha started his career as a costume designer in 2005, designing clothing for films like “Mera Dil Leke Dekho”. She walked on the ramp as a model at Lakme Fashion Week 2009, and Lakme Fashion Week 2008. She started her acting career with “Dabangg”, alongside Salman Khan. She also starred in the sequel “Dabang 2”. Sonakshi Sinha also appeared with Yo Yo Honey Singh in a music video titled Superstar.

In 2019, she featured in a song ‘Mungda’ in the comedy film “Total Dhamaal” She played a tough girl in the film “Akira”. She then starred in the period romance film “Kalank” with an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The film failed at the box office and was declared a dud. Sonakshi also acted in the film “Khandani Shafakhana.”

Sonakshi Sinha also starred in Akshay starrer “Mission Mangal”, which also had  Vidya Balan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. She appeared in the war drama film “Bhuj: The Pride of India” alongside Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Parineeti Chopra. She reprised her role with Salman Khan in “Dabangg 3”, which was directed by Prabhu Deva.
