It was approved by the Union Cabinet on October 3, 2013. The Telangana formation bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on February 18, 2014, in the Lok Sabha and in the Rajya Sabha on February 20, 2014. The Congress government introduced the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, and the Andhra Pradesh Partition Bill, directing the partition of the state of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. The bill was approved by the President on March 1, 2014, and on June 2, 2014, Telangana became the 29th state in the country. The long-cherished wish of the people of Telangana was fulfilled.
