UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020 candidates will get additional attempt, government approved

UPSC CSE Exam 2020 Extra Attempt update: The Central Government has agreed to give an additional appearance for the UPSC Civil Services Examination to the candidates whose last attempt was in the year 2020. This is a big news for desperate candidates preparing for Civil Services Examination.

Actually, due to Corona pandemic, these candidates could not appear in the examination. Due to the age limit, in the year 2020, these candidates had the last attempt. In this case, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court, after hearing on which the decision of the government has now come in favor of the candidates.

Due to Corona, candidates asked for one last chance

Rachna Singh, a candidate preparing for the Civil Services Examination, filed a petition in the Supreme Court after she missed the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam held on October 4, 2020. She pleaded with the government to be given an additional chance in court.

The petition included more candidates who could not appear in the examination due to corona crisis/lockdown etc. On behalf of the petitioners, Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi presented a case and argued.

The court had not canceled the examination

In fact, on 30 September, the Court refused to postpone the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination, 2020 to be held on 4 October due to the Covid-19 pandemic and floods in several states of the country. The result of this examination has also been declared.

In October 2020, the central government said in the Supreme Court that when the guidelines for the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021 are set, the concerned authority will take into account the additional opportunity for the Civil Services Exam 2021.
