One dead, two missing after boat capsizes off South Australia

One person has been confirmed dead and two others are missing after a fishing boat capsized off the coast of South Australia. The incident occurred near Spilsby Island, prompting a search and rescue operation. Authorities are working to identify the deceased individual.

Five people were aboard the boat when it capsized, with only a 44-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy from Adelaide surviving. They were found on a reef and reported that the boat overturned due to a wave. The group consisted of family members and close friends, according to police.

“A short time ago we located a deceased person in the water in the same location,” stated SA Police Superintendent Paul Bahr. The search and rescue operation took place 200 km west of Adelaide and the identities of the victims are yet to be determined.Investigations are ongoing to understand the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
