7 Cities to Study English Abroad and Become Fluent in the Language

There is no denying it: studying English abroad allows immersion in the language and an experience of it that you will hardly have in a regular course in a non-English speaking country. After all, in addition to contacting the natives, you will be doing all your daily activities, from the simplest (like taking a bus) to the most complex (like working), in places that require constant use of the language.

Therefore, the gain in fluency, autonomy and resourcefulness when expressing and communicating in English is notorious. However, for the exchange to be perfect and full of positive experiences, it is essential to choose a city that really meets your needs and is ideal for your personality and lifestyle.

With that in mind, we’ve put together some of the best study destination options in both Australia and New Zealand, so you can get to know them and know in advance what they have to offer. Follow up!

1. Sydney

The first of these cities is Sydney, the largest and most populous city in the land of kangaroos. Altogether, there are 4.841 million people living in this municipality, which is bathed by beautiful beaches (such as Milk Beach, Bondi Beach, Manly Beach and Redleaf Beach) and known for the lively nightlife in the Darling Harbor area.

Sydney also has the country’s main airport, which has daily international flights to all of Oceania and Asia, in addition, of course, to Western countries. In addition, the city has six of the 38 Australian universities that were considered by the QS World University Rankings 2022 as the best in the world. Are they:

  • University of New South Wales;
  • University of Technology Sydney;
  • Macquarie University.

2. Melbourne

Melbourne, in turn, has 4.44 million inhabitants and is located in the state of Victoria, south of Australia and has already been voted 7 times as the best city to live. In 2021, it was considered the sixth-best city on the planet for international students, according to the QS Best Student Cities.

To reach this verdict, the survey considered factors such as employability, accessibility and desirability. This last question, in particular, is not for nothing.

After all, the city is home to numerous museums and galleries (National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Museum, Old Melbourne Gaol, etc.), parks and ecological sanctuaries (Dandenong Ranges National Park, Healesville Sanctuary, William Ricketts Sanctuary, etc.), shopping centres (Queen Victoria, etc.) Market), wine regions (Yara Valley) and much more.

3. Brisbane

Brisbane, which is close to Sydney, has 2.177 million residents and is a place that breathes nature, history and science. In other words, an excellent destination for those looking for an exchange in Australia. Proof of this is the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium (the main planetarium of the state of Queensland), the ANZAC Square memorial, the Queensland Museum (the most important museum of natural history in the region), several parks and natural mountains.

For example, there’s Mount Tibrogargan, New Farm Park, Rocks Riverside Park and so on. To top it off, Brisbane is close to the Great Barrier Reef, which is one of the great observation points for local marine life and is even considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In other words, you have the opportunity to live close to it all. Not cool?

4. Perth

The fourth Australian city for those looking to study English abroad is Perth, located to the west of Australia. With 1.277 million people, it preserves the air of country life like few others, making it ideal for those who enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle.

Some of the main local entertainment and leisure spots are spaces reminiscent of the environment and wildlife, such as the Perth Zoo, the Aquarium of Western Australia, the Cohunu Koala Park, the Yanchep National Park, the John Forrest National Park.

It is also worth mentioning that, due to the proximity to the Garden and Rottnest Islands, it is possible to go on tours of both and take advantage of them to practice outdoor sports (such as golf and snorkelling) and adventure sports (such as surfing and skydiving).

5. Auckland

Leaving Australia and going to New Zealand, we have Auckland, which is the largest city in the nation with 1.614 million inhabitants. Located on the North Island, it stands out for being a place that mixes a little of everything. So much so that the city concentrates the country’s financial, commercial and corporate centers, in large skyscrapers and establishments along the neighborhoods.

At night, on the other hand, areas such as the High Streeet, Ponsonby Road and K Road stand out, especially among those who are studying abroad, as they concentrate nightclubs, pubs, restaurants and other nightlife options for those who like to have fun, socialize and meet new people.

6. Christchurch

Christchurch, meanwhile, has nearly 375,000 residents and is on the opposite side of Auckland. That is, on the South Island. The city is a great example of the appreciation and dedication that New Zealanders employ in the integration of municipalities with the environment, respecting and preserving it – something very strong in the country’s culture.

Wherever you look, there is a green area: Hagley Park, Christchuch Botanic Gardens, Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, Mona Vale, Victoria Park etc. In addition, the place is an excellent access point for those who want to enjoy the winter in the land of kiwis and enjoy the ski resorts that are concentrated on this side of the island. Among the main ones, we can mention the Cook Cardrona Alpine Resort, the Coronet Peak Ski Area and the Whakapapa Ski Area.

7. Wellington

Lastly, there is the city of Wellington, which is New Zealand’s capital. For those who want to study in New Zealand, it is important to know that it has about 208,000 citizens and that it is located at the end of the North Island.

Precisely for this reason, the small town works as a compromise for those who want to live in a well-located place in the center of everything, to enjoy their free days and explore the country’s charms. Just to give you an idea, in a few hours it is possible to reach the two extremes of both islands (Cabo Reinga and Bluff) from this municipality.

To top it off, Wellington has a great cultural and festive diversity, hosting events that attract thousands of people throughout the year. Some of the main ones are: Matariki, World of Wearable Art, Homegrown, Beervana and Oktoberfest.

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu Exposes Fake Twitter Account Spreading Rumors on Exam Results, Shares Screen Shot On Social Media

It was another case of fake news in which a rumor spread that the results of Assam Higher Secondary exams had been released. The fake news spread quickly, requiring the intervention of Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, who exposed the details of a fake Twitter account spreading rumors about exam results.

On Friday, Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, took to social media to debunk the fake news that the Secondary Exams results of Assam had been released. The Minister clarified that the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) are responsible for declaring the exam results, and they will be declared according to their predetermined schedule.

Ranoj Pegu

Additionally, Minister Ranoj Pegu shared screenshots of the fake Twitter account bearing his name and allegedly spreading false news about the announcement of results for the HSLC & HS Examination, 2024. The screenshots revealed that miscreants had attempted to spread the fake news that the results of the Secondary Exams would be declared on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Minister Ranoj Pegu also clarified that the claims were entirely false and once again exposed how easily such false information can spread on social media. This underscores the need for readers to remain vigilant and verify information from credible sources.

SEBA and AHSEC are tasked with conducting the Class 10 and Class 12 exams, respectively. The Class 10 matric exams concluded on March 4, and the Class 12 higher secondary exams concluded on March 13. In 2023, the Assam board Class 10 results were declared on May 22, and Class 12 HS results on June 16. The results will be made available on the official websites of the board — sebaonline.org, resultsassam.nic.in, and ahsec.assam.gov.in.

Last year, the pass percentage for Class 10 was 72.69 percent. The pass percentage for the Class 12 Arts stream was 70.12 percent, 79.57 percent for the Commerce stream, and 84.96 percent in the Science stream.

The Assam Board of Secondary Education is expected to release the Assam Board 10th Result 2024 during the first week of May 2024. However, no official announcement has been issued by the Assam Board yet.
