Whether Arnab will be released from jail: Bombay High Court can give verdict on Arnab Goswami’s bail application today, has been in lockup for 6 days

The decision may come at 3 pm today on the bail of Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV. The Bombay High Court on Saturday reserved the judgment. Arnab was arrested by the Mumbai Police on November 4 on charges of abetting a designer and his mother to commit suicide.

Police said- Arnab also used the phone in judicial custody
The Raigad District Court had sent Arnab to judicial custody by 18 November. He was then kept at the Quarantine Center (Temporary Jail) in a school in Alibaug until Saturday night. He was shifted to Taloja jail on Sunday morning. Police had said that Arnab was using mobile phones and was active on social media, despite having judicial custody.

Arnab claims – police torture
While going to Taloja Jail, Arnab said that his life was threatened. They are not allowed to talk to the lawyer. He is being tortured in custody. Earlier on Saturday, Arnab’s lawyer filed a supplementary application in the High Court. In this, Arnab claimed that the police hit him with shoes and did not even let him drink water.

BJP MLA will meet Arnab in jail
BJP’s MLA Ram Kadam Taloja has said that he will go to meet Arnab. If anyone has courage, show it. Earlier, former MP Kirit Somaiya also went to jail to meet Arnab.

Arnab accused – mother-son forced to commit suicide
Interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumudini committed suicide in May 2018 in Mumbai. The suicide note accused 3 people, including Arnab. According to the suicide note, Arnab and the other accused had hired Naik as the designer for different projects but did not pay nearly Rs 5.40 crore. This worsened Anavay’s financial situation and he succeeds. Naik created Republic TV studio.
