17,921 new cases of Covid-19 in India, 133 more deaths

New Delhi, March 10 After 17,921 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in India in one day, the number of infected in the country has increased to 1,12,62,707, while more than 1.09 crore people have become infection-free.

According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock on Wednesday morning, the death toll rose to 1,58,063 after the death of 133 more patients.

The number of under-treated patients in the country has come down to 1,84,598, which is 1.64 percent of the total cases.

According to the data, with a total of 1,09,20,046 people being infection free, the national rate of recovery of patients is 96.96 percent. The death rate from Covid-19 is 1.40 percent.

On August 7 last year, the number of infected people in the country was 20 lakh, on 23 August 30 lakh and on 5 September more than 40 lakh.

At the same time, total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), so far 22,34,79,877 samples in the country have been tested for Covid-19. Of these, 7,63,081 samples were examined on Tuesday.
