Happy Birthday, Mohanlal: Malayalam industry superstar Mohanlal has turned 62 today. Often called “The Complete Actor”, Mohanlal has been in the industry for the last 44 years. In such a long-acting career, the actor has acted in more than 340 films, which is a huge feat in itself.

Mohanlal was born on May 21, 1960, in Elanthur, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala to Viswanathan Nair and Santhakumari. His father was a former bureaucrat and law secretary of the Government of Kerala. Mohanlal had an inclination towards acting since childhood and used to participate in small plays in the early days.

Mohanlal started his acting career with the film “Thiranottam” in the year 1978, although this film could never be released. After this, Mohanlal appeared in “Manjil Virinja Pookkal” in 1980. In this, he appeared in the role of a villain and everyone liked his performance. The film also proved to be a blockbuster and after that, he never looked back.

Apart from Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films, Mohanlal has also appeared in several Hindi films like “Company”, “Aag” and “Tej”. In his 44-year-long acting career, Mohanlal has given many masterpieces to the cinema including “Lucifer”, “Drishyam”, “Bro Daddy”, “Aaraattuu”, “Manichithrathazhu”, “Marakkar”, “Company”, “Oppam”, and “Thoovanathumbikal”.
