Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders celebrated the 70th birthday of party president and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad on Saturday. The celebrations were led by his son and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao at the BRS headquarters in Telangana, where a 70-kg cake was cut in honor of the occasion. Rama Rao also handed over insurance papers to autorickshaw drivers and distributed wheelchairs among the physically challenged. A documentary on KCR’s life was screened during the event, which was attended by a large number of party leaders and workers. The birthday celebrations were organized by Secunderabad parliamentary constituency in-charge T. Sai Kiran.
As part of the celebrations, the BRS leader presented insurance papers to 1,000 autorickshaw drivers, providing them with a coverage of Rs 1 lakh each. Additionally, wheelchairs were distributed among 10 physically challenged individuals. KTR cut the specially made cake along with other party leaders including Rajya Sabha member Keshav Rao, Greater Hyderabad Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, former minister Mahmood Ali, T. Srinivas Yadav, and Srinivas Goud. A special documentary on the life and political journey of KCR, as well as his role in the Telangana movement, was also screened, with KTR congratulating Sai Kiran Yadav for producing the impressive documentary.
In addition to the celebrations, a photo exhibition was arranged at Telangana Bhavan, highlighting the Telangana movement and KCR’s indefinite hunger strike. Former minister Srinivas Yadav and Mahmood Ali announced that the party will provide all help to the families of party workers and distributed cheques of Rs 2 lakh each among families of 70 BRS members who died in accidents.
The birthday celebration was a grand event where the party paid tribute to its leader, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and highlighted his contributions to the party and the state of Telangana. The event also served as a platform for the party to showcase its commitment to the welfare of its members and the community.
