Kashmir: KPDCL geared up amidst heavy snowfall

Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation (KPDCL) workers are working to restore power after heavy snowfall. Managing Director Mussarat Islam stated that 5 out of 120 33 kV feeders and 76 out of 1118 HT 11 kV feeders are down, causing disruptions in north Kashmir districts and some parts of south Kashmir.

According to the MD, efforts are being made to restore the feeders, especially in districts where road connectivity has been affected by heavy snow. The 33 kV Gurez line has been partially charged, while 33 kV tap lines Keran, Machhil, Tangdar, and Wanpoh-Qazigund line are under fault.

In the 11 kV category, 39 out of the 76 feeders are down in Baramulla and Kupwara Districts, with additional feeders in other districts also impacted. However, all feeders in the capital city Srinagar are operational, along with the majority of the 11 kV feeders in other districts.

The heavy snowfall has caused damage to power infrastructure in some areas, but KPDCL workers are making efforts to restore power. Consumers in affected areas are urged to be patient as the restoration work continues. The corporation is working to ensure that power is fully restored in all areas affected by the disruptions.

The KPDCL is fully geared up and committed to restoring power after the disruptions caused by heavy snowfall. Efforts are being made to address the faults in the affected feeders, and the corporation is working to ensure that residents have access to uninterrupted power supply in the affected areas.
