Sharad Pawar rides 'palki' to Raigad Fort, blows NCP's poll 'Trumpet'

In a historic event at Raigad Fort, NCP President Sharad Pawar unveiled the party’s new symbol, ‘Trumpeter’, amidst a grand gathering. Pawar, at 83, visited the fort after four decades, symbolizing a new chapter for the party and its commitment to restore democracy.

The ceremony began as Pawar arrived at the base of the fort and was carried on a palanquin to the top of Raigad Fort via the ropeway. Supporters welcomed him with cheers as he paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and inaugurated the new symbol with a display of trumpets, signifying the party’s dedication to the ideals of the legendary ruler.

In his address, Pawar emphasized the significance of the ‘Trumpeter’ symbol, stating it as a reminder of the struggle for democratic values. He drew parallels between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s reign as the ‘janata raja’ and NCP’s commitment to serving the people, promising to uphold the ruler’s principles in leading the party.
