Lucknow Super Giants add Lance Klusener to coaching staff for IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) have roped in South Africa legend Lance Klusener as part of their coaching staff for the upcoming 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which kicks off on March 22. Klusener, who also coaches Durban Super Giants in the SA20 tournament, has an impressive coaching resume, having worked with various international and franchise teams.

LSG, owned by the RPSG Group, made the announcement of Klusener’s appointment through their social media channels. The former South African all-rounder has previously coached Afghanistan and served as batting coach for national teams like South Africa and Zimbabwe. Klusener will join a talented coaching roster at LSG, which includes Justin Langer, Sridharan Sriram, Morne Morkel, Pravin Tambe, Jonty Rhodes, and MSK Prasad.

Having previously been associated with Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Klusener brings a wealth of experience to the LSG setup. With a distinguished playing career that included 49 Tests and 171 ODIs for South Africa, Klusener also has coaching experience in domestic cricket leagues in India and around the world.

In addition to his coaching stints in various T20 leagues, Klusener has worked with teams like Khulna Tigers (BPL), Guyana Amazon Warriorz (CPL), and Bangla Tigers (Abu Dhabi T10 League). LSG will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 24, followed by their first home game against Punjab Kings on March 30 at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Having made the playoffs in both seasons since their inception in 2022, LSG will be looking to build on their previous success under the guidance of Klusener and the rest of their coaching staff.
