Trinamool Party Sends Show-Cause Notice to Rebel Leader Kunal Ghosh

Trinamool Congress Issues Show-Cause Notice to Rebel Leader Kunal Ghosh

Kolkata, March 4 (IANS) – Trinamool Congress has issued a show-cause notice to its rebel leader, Kunal Ghosh, for making derogatory comments against party MP Sudip Bandopadhya. Ghosh confirmed receiving the notice and stated he would respond after reviewing it.

Ghosh was informed about the notice on Monday while at the residence of party legislator Tapas Roy, who resigned from the Assembly and Trinamool Congress. Roy mentioned the timing of the notice, issued by the party’s state president Subrata Bakshi, while Ghosh was at his residence trying to convince him not to resign.

Despite tendering resignations as party spokesman and state general secretary, Ghosh’s resignation as spokesman was accepted, but not as state general secretary. On March 2, he raised questions about the funding of Bandyopadhyay’s hospitalisation after being arrested by the CBI in 2017.

“If agencies try to avoid this, I should move a Ld Court praying for investigation into this matter,” Ghosh stated in his message on X, tagging the ED and CBI Directors. The party awaits his response to the show-cause notice.
