CCI to host conference on the economic aspects of competition law

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is set to host the 9th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law in New Delhi on Tuesday. The conference aims to bring together experts in the field to discuss key issues surrounding competition law.

The event will feature a keynote address by Arvind Virmani, Member of NITI Aayog, in the inaugural session. Additionally, there will be a plenary session focused on ‘Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities,’ with Arghya Sengupta, Founder and Research Director of Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, serving as the Moderator.

Two technical sessions will follow, chaired by Rajat Kathuria of Shiv Nadar University and Rohit Prasad of Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. The conference aims to stimulate research, promote debate on competition law issues, and enhance understanding of competition-related issues in the Indian context.

According to the CCI, the annual conference has been held since 2016 to address relevant issues and implications for the enforcement of competition law in India. The event will provide a platform for scholars, practitioners, academicians, and experts to exchange ideas and insights on the economics of competition law.
