Two people died in a road accident in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir

In Ramban district, Jammu & Kashmir, a tragic road accident claimed the lives of two individuals on Tuesday. The incident occurred near the Battery Chashma on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge, resulting in their untimely demise.

According to police reports, “The driver of the vehicle failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the vehicle fell into a deep gorge about 150 meters around 12.30 a.m.” Despite immediate response from police, SDRF, and civilians at the scene, the occupants could not be saved.

Authorities swiftly shifted the two victims to the district hospital in Ramban town, but unfortunately, medical professionals declared them dead upon arrival. The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed at this time.

The tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving and road safety measures for all commuters, especially on challenging terrains like the Jammu-Srinagar national highway. The incident has left the local community in mourning and highlights the need for continued vigilance on the roads to prevent such devastating losses in the future.
