96th Academy Awards sees ‘Oppenheimer’ sweeping 7 wins, ‘Poor Things’ earns 4 honours

Los Angeles, March 11 (IANS) Christopher Nolan’s film ‘Oppenheimer’ swept the 96th Academy Awards, winning seven trophies including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. Murphy accepted the award saying, “we’re all living in Oppenheimer’s world.”

Nolan, winning his first Best Director Oscar after seven nominations, expressed his gratitude for being part of the film industry’s incredible journey. Emma Stone won Best Actress for “Poor Things”, while Da’vine Joy Randolph took home Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers”. Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor.
