CBI arrests 3 individuals associated with suspended Trinamool leader Shahjahan Sheikh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three associates of Sheikh Shahjahan in connection with the attack on an ED team in Sandeshkhali. Ziauddin Mollah, Didarbux Mollah, and Faruk Akunji were arrested after being summoned for interrogation. Ziauddin is suspected to be the key instigator in the attack.

Ziauddin, the head of a village panchayat, and his associates appeared at the CBI’s office for questioning and were arrested after about four hours. Sources suggest that Ziauddin was the first to react to the attack, claiming it was a spontaneous reaction to the ED team trying to enter Shahjahan’s residence without a warrant. Shahjahan, currently in custody, will be confronted with the arrested individuals.

The arrests shed light on Shahjahan’s alleged involvement in the attack and his connections to the arrested individuals. The ongoing probe by the CBI into the incident in Sandeshkhali on January 5 has brought new developments with the arrest of these three associates. The central agency is continuing its investigation into the matter to uncover further details and potential motives behind the attack.
