Mukhtar Ansari hospitalized in Banda, Uttar Pradesh

Mafia don and former MLA Mukhtar Ansari admitted in ICU at Banda Medical College after his health deteriorated. Ansari had expressed fear of being poisoned in jail. Jail officials suspended for negligence. Ansari did not appear in court in ambulance case, citing threat to his life.

According to sources, Mukhtar Ansari was shifted to the hospital in Banda amidst tight security. A police official confirmed his hospitalization, but officials refused to comment on the matter. Ansari had previously expressed concerns about his safety in jail, fearing slow poisoning.

A few days ago, Ansari had raised alarm about his life being in danger and feared he was being given poisonous food. The jailer and two deputy jailers were suspended for negligence, and disciplinary action was initiated. Ansari had also missed his court appearance in the ambulance case, citing the threat to his life in Banda jail.

In a letter, Mukhtar Ansari mentioned that the food given to him on March 19 was mixed with a poisonous substance, causing severe pain. He described experiencing pain in the nerves of his hands and feet, followed by cold hands and feet. Earlier, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 36-year-old Ghazipur fake arms license case while lodged in Banda jail.

Mukhtar Ansari’s health concerns and allegations of being poisoned have raised questions about the safety and security of inmates in jails. The incident highlights the need for better monitoring and protection of prisoners to prevent such instances in the future.
