Kolkata, March 26 (IANS) The Trinamool Congress filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh for making derogatory comments about Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a media briefing. The ruling party accused Ghosh of violating the model code of conduct.

The complaint forwarded to the office of CEO, West Bengal, alleges that Ghosh cast aspersions about the Chief Minister’s family lineage. Trinamool Congress stated that such comments by Ghosh are in clear violation of the MCC, which prohibits personal attacks or malicious statements against any individual.

Trinamool Congress has urged the CEO, West Bengal to issue directions to prevent Ghosh and other BJP candidates from making such personal comments against the Chief Minister or any other Trinamool Congress leader. The party has also requested immediate action against Ghosh for his violation of the MCC guidelines.

The ruling party is adamant on upholding the integrity of the election process and ensuring that all candidates adhere to the code of conduct set by the Election Commission of India. Actions are being taken swiftly to address any instances of misconduct during the electoral campaign.
