Upendra Kushwaha Seeks Blessings from ‘Elder Brother’ Nitish Kumar Ahead of LS Polls

Patna, March 27 (IANS) – Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections starting April 19, Upendra Kushwaha, National President of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Wednesday. This meeting marks the first interaction between the two leaders since Kushwaha parted ways with JD-U last year.

During the meeting, Kushwaha shared a photo with Nitish Kumar, stating, “Today, I met with my elder brother CM Nitish Kumar at his residence and took his blessings.” The significance of this meeting lies in the message it sends – that Kushwaha and Nitish Kumar are united and prepared to challenge INDIA bloc candidates in the upcoming elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Kushwaha, running as an RLSP candidate, suffered defeat at the hands of JD-U’s Mahabali Singh in the Karakat constituency. However, the RLM, led by Kushwaha, is an NDA alliance member in Bihar, with the Karakat seat being allotted to him as part of the seat-sharing agreement.

Recently, Kushwaha criticized JD-U for allegedly influencing his party’s state unit chief Ramesh Kushwaha. In response, JD-U nominated Ramesh Kushwaha’s wife, Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha, as a candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Siwan. This move has further intensified the political dynamics in Bihar as the election season approaches.
