Cab Plunges into Gorge on Jammu-Srinagar Highway, Fatalities Feared

Fatalities are feared after a cab dropped into a gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district. The incident occurred late Thursday evening near Battery Chashma, as the cab went out of the driver’s control.

Officials stated, “A relief and rescue operation was immediately launched, but due to rain and darkness, the ill-fated vehicle and its occupants could not be traced.”

Efforts to locate the cab and its occupants resumed on Friday morning with the first light. The rescue operation is ongoing in Ramban district on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

The incident has raised concerns about road safety on the highway, as authorities work to determine the cause of the accident. Further updates on the situation are awaited as the rescue operation continues.
