Suspended TMC Leader Sheikh Shahjahan Claims Political Conspiracy Behind Attack on ED, CAPF Personnel
Kolkata, April 3 (IANS) Suspended Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan, accused of masterminding the attack on ED and CAPF personnel, asserts his innocence, citing a political conspiracy. Shahjahan, currently in ED custody till April 13, denies any involvement in the incident.
Shahjahan proclaimed, “There is no truth in the charge brought against me. I am being framed deliberately. I am a victim of political conspiracy,” during his appearance at the ED’s Salt Lake office. While not directly naming any individual or party, he hinted at the masterminds behind the conspiracy.
The district court ordered Shahjahan’s custody extension till April 13. Previously, in CBI custody, he expressed his faith in justice, stating, “I am confident that Allah will get me justice.” Sources reveal Shahjahan’s denial of any association with the perpetrators of the January 5 attack in Sandeshkhali, condemning the act and urging punishment for the culprits.
