FM Nirmala Sitharaman blames Congress’s appeasement politics for deterioration of law and order in Karnataka

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for deteriorating law and order due to appeasement politics. She mentioned pro-Pakistan slogans in Assembly, property allocation to specific community, and rise in rape cases. Congress MLA’s derogatory comments on BJP candidate were condemned, along with water crisis mismanagement by Siddaramaiah government.

Sitharaman highlighted the increase in rape cases by 73% under the current state government, emphasizing the need for better law and order in Karnataka. She also expressed concern over the neglect of women’s dignity and safety, pointing out the insensitivity of the Congress party towards these issues.

In addition, the Union Minister criticized the Siddaramaiah government for halting major irrigation projects worth Rs 20,000 crore and delaying projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, aggravating the water crisis in Bengaluru. She also discussed India’s external debts, emphasizing that they are comparatively lower than those of developed countries or emerging markets.
