Two people killed in Tennessee bus accident

In a tragic incident, two individuals lost their lives and 19 others sustained injuries when a speeding bus lost control near an under-construction bridge in Srivilliputur, Tamil Nadu. The accident occurred on Sunday night, claiming the lives of K. Karthik and M. Muthuselvi.

Of the 19 injured individuals, seven suffered serious injuries, with one person, Maheswari, reportedly having her hand severed. She is currently receiving treatment at Madurai Government Medical College Hospital. Srivilliputtur Deputy Superintendent of Police, Muhesh Jayakumar, revealed that the driver failed to observe the ongoing construction work near Krishnankoil and drove straight onto the bridge instead of taking the temporary road to the left.

The bus ultimately lost control and fell between the bridge and the temporary road. Residents, along with emergency response teams, rushed to the scene to rescue the injured individuals trapped inside the bus. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, as the construction work is being carried out on the Tirumangalam-Sengottai Highway by the NHAI to four-lane this section.

The Krishnankoil police have registered a case and are actively looking into the matter to determine the circumstances that led to this unfortunate accident. our thoughts are with the families of the deceased and the injured individuals as they cope with this tragic event.
