Sukhbir Badal claims Punjab CM insulted Bhagat Singh

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal called for a boycott of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of disrespecting freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Badal criticized Mann for using the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum for a protest supporting the release of Arvind Kejriwal, who is embroiled in a liquor scam case. Badal condemned the actions as reprehensible and criticized the AAP government for misusing police to restrict entry in Khatkar Kalan.

Badal highlighted the Chief Minister’s failure to address critical issues, such as a recent incident of a woman being disrobed and paraded naked in Tarn Taran. He also criticized Mann for prioritizing protests for Kejriwal while Punjab grapples with law and order issues and drug problems. Badal claimed that the deteriorating situation has led to a flight of capital, with traders and industrialists fleeing the state due to extortion threats.

Badal’s comments came during a public meeting in Samrala, where he expressed outrage over the misuse of historical sites for political purposes. He accused Mann of neglecting his duties as Chief Minister and called attention to the escalating crisis in Punjab. The SAD President urged the public to hold elected officials accountable and to prioritize the well-being and safety of the state’s residents.
