Large Crowds Gather at Sikh Shrines in Punjab and Haryana for Baisakhi Celebrations
Thousands of devotees flocked to gurdwaras in Punjab and Haryana to celebrate Baisakhi, marking the foundation day of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh. The Golden Temple in Amritsar was adorned with crowds offering prayers.
The Akal Takht instructed the hoisting of Khalsa flags for the 325th Khalsa Sajna Divas. The SGPC provided flags and deployed staff to manage crowds at the Golden Temple. Takht Kesgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib also witnessed a large gathering.
A group of pilgrims embarked on a journey to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib in Pakistan for a religious congregation. Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and CM Bhagwant Mann extended greetings on Baisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Diwas.
Purohit emphasized the significance of Baisakhi, marking the harvest season and remembering the farmers’ contributions. He highlighted the historical importance of Khalsa Panth’s founding in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh and Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. May the festival bring prosperity and unity for all.
