PM Modi aims to transform the Northeast into the gateway of South Asia and East Asia: JP Nadda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make the northeastern region a gateway to South Asia and East Asia for trade and tourism was highlighted by BJP President JP Nadda at an election rally in Nagaland’s Chumoukedima. Nadda praised Modi’s initiatives, stating that Nagaland is undergoing a transformation under the BJP-NDPP government.

Nadda criticized the Congress for its “Divide and Rule” approach, which he claimed disrupted Nagaland’s progress and prosperity. He expressed confidence that Nagaland has decided to support the NDA again under Modi’s leadership, with the slogan of “Abki Baar 400 Paar”.

Highlighting the change in approach towards politics under PM Modi, Nadda emphasized the importance of last mile connectivity and delivery. He praised Modi for his frequent visits to the northeast, stating that the region has witnessed significant development under his government.

Nadda mentioned that 11 accords have been signed by the NDA government to bring peace, power generation, tourism, cultural development, natural farming, and sports development in the northeast. He also mentioned the surrender of over 9,500 insurgents and a reduction in insurgency-related incidents by 82% in the last 10 years under PM Modi.

Furthermore, Nadda highlighted the infrastructure development in the northeast, including the connectivity of over 6,000 villages through optical fiber and the construction of eight airports with modern facilities. He commended Modi for laying the foundation or inaugurating projects worth Rs 55,000 crore for the region’s faster development.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, and NDPP candidate Chumben Murry were among the dignitaries present at the election rally addressed by JP Nadda. The event showcased the BJP’s focus on the development of Nagaland and the northeast region as a whole.
