Nukkad Natak at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk Encourages Voter Participation

Srinagar, April 13 (IANS) – A ‘Nukkad Natak’ performance was held at Ghanta Ghar in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk to promote voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. District Election Officer Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat joined the voter awareness programme organized by the district election authority.

The event was organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, which is an initiative of the Election Commission of India to encourage eligible citizens to vote and make informed decisions during elections. Local artistes presented a theme-based ‘Nukkad Natak’ and school students participated in the program.

DEO Bhat emphasized the importance of enhancing understanding of voting processes and promoting electoral literacy, especially among first-time voters. An official statement mentioned, “The initiative aims to inspire young voters towards the electoral process and strengthen the democratic setup to empower the citizens.”

The voter awareness program at Ghanta Ghar aimed to engage the community and educate them about the significance of voting. Such initiatives play a crucial role in encouraging voter participation and creating awareness about the electoral process.
