PM Modi and the Neo-Middle Class Surge: BJP’s Vision for Transforming India’s Future

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) – The Indian middle class has been a strong supporter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), especially in the last two Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming 2024 elections focuses on empowering the middle class and meeting their expectations.

In the 2009 elections, the middle class predominantly supported the Congress-led UPA government but felt neglected by the Manmohan Singh administration. However, since 2014, the middle class has solidly backed Narendra Modi and the BJP-led coalition.

PM Modi’s emphasis on the middle class stems from their potential to drive economic growth and innovation in India. The BJP manifesto, ‘Modi Ki Guarantee 2024’, highlights the government’s commitment to empowering the ‘neo-middle class’ and creating opportunities for a better quality of life.

According to the manifesto, the BJP plans to focus on urbanisation, rational tax structure, infrastructure development, and digitalization to support young entrepreneurs. The party also aims to strengthen the real estate sector, expand healthcare facilities, improve education quality, and enhance connectivity across the country.

PM Modi’s vision for a ‘New India’ includes establishing new satellite towns, expanding startup ecosystems, and upgrading healthcare and education institutions. The BJP’s focus on the middle class contrasts with the previous UPA governments’ approach before 2014, highlighting the significant benefits the middle class has gained under the BJP’s governance.

As the government prepares to implement its ‘Sankalp Patra’ post the 100-day action plan after the Lok Sabha election results on June 4, PM Modi reiterates the importance of shaping India’s future. The BJP’s manifesto reflects a commitment to transforming India and fulfilling the aspirations of the burgeoning middle class.
