Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced ‘Made in India’ servers to meet the increasing demand of customers in the country. The company’s plan, announced last July, aims to produce $1 billion worth of servers in the first five years. With support from the government’s PLI programme, HPE is working with VVDN Technologies to manufacture servers in Manesar, Haryana. This move reflects HPE’s commitment to supply chain diversification and bolstering local expertise in line with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
SVP and MD at HPE India, Som Satsangi, expressed gratitude towards the government and stated, “Their vision in introducing the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme has been instrumental in encouraging OEMs like us to establish a manufacturing footprint in India.” The collaboration with VVDN Technologies has led to the establishment of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana, which is now fully operational.
Puneet Agarwal, CEO of VVDN Technologies, highlighted, “Together, we are establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities in India that reflect our commitment to local expertise and an Atmanirbhar Bharat.” HPE’s initiative to manufacture servers locally aligns with its goal of supply chain diversification and resiliency. The company is also exploring opportunities for deeper localization by leveraging VVDN’s backward integration capability and expanding its range of products manufactured in India.
