Amitabh Bachchan and A.R. Rahman to receive Mangeshkar family awards

Mumbai, April 17 (IANS) Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan is set to receive the prestigious ‘Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar’ at an event on April 24. Alongside, music maestro A. R. Rahman will be honored with the ‘Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award’ in a ceremony next week.

The Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratisthan, Pune, founded by the renowned Mangeshkar family, will present the award to Bachchan on his 82nd death anniversary, accompanied by a musical tribute. Previous recipients include Prime Minister Narendra Modi (2022) and Asha Bhosale (2023) for their exceptional contributions.

In addition to Bachchan and Rahman, several other notable figures will be recognized in various categories, such as the Best Marathi Play of the Year, NGO Deepstambh Foundation Manobal, litterateur Manjiri Phadke, comedian Ashok Saraf, actress Padmini Kolhapure, and more. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Hridaynath Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar, with Asha Bhonsle presenting the honors on April 24.

The event will also feature a musical tribute to Lata Mangeshkar by renowned singer Vibhavari Apte-Joshi and her team. The ceremony is being organized by the Pratisthan and Hridayesh Arts, promising a memorable evening for all attendees.
