A year from now, where will our education systems be?

Education is a crucial key to a child’s growth and overall mental development and also for the progress of our societies. Education undoubtedly plays a crucial role in a person’s life and contributes to enabling them to stride at the same pace in this rapidly evolving world. 

Education unlocks new opportunities not only for oneself but for everyone around and holds the potential to narrow down the inequalities and misbeliefs in the community or society. 

Right now, we’re living in a period where uncertainty is so dominant that the question “Where Will Education Be 1 Year from Now?” arises, rather than getting an answer, two more questions greet us – and the whole situation slips into a deep confusion that whether we are asking about “When our education system will be getting back to normal”? Or “How much evolved our education system will be in 2022”? 

In this phase of never-ending uncertainty, from 2020 we’re just trying to find out answers for both the questions. Be it the students or the academic institutions, everyone is wandering that when this situation will and uncertainty will leave our way.

Since last year, COVID-19 Pandemic has brutally affected our education systems but if we try to take this situation in a somewhat positive way “for our education system” is the whole situation completely on a negative side? Well, we can say that disruption is definitely happened in numerous major ways, but can we say that the definition of education has somewhat changed now, especially in our country? Can we frame this situation as “Disruption with Evolution for” for the education systems in India? We’ll leave this to you.

But as everything is atypical and confusing, even today no one seems to be well adapted for this change. Talking about students, majority them are walking forward with a dull and a lenient approach with their studies and adding to it, schools are struggling to keep things on track with the new digital learning requirements.

Conventional methods for learning have drastically changed now, Live classes on online platforms, digital notes and assessments, and live examinations are the new ways of learning now. 

This is appreciable to see that from teachers to students everyone is evolving from the conventional, learning new ways, technologies and applications to cope-up with the demands of the new education systems and methodologies. 

Lectures and academic classes are now being delivered to the students with the help of online and live video classes. Another popular platform like YouTube stays on top as a free way to acquire education for students, but despite the presence of these highly accessible resources, are these accessible to everyone struggling with their education and learning?

Who will think about those students who remain untouched with digital learning platforms and resources? or the problem can be a usual one like, low network receptions in many remote areas that may have internet connectivity speeds so poor that a student can’t even access the live or video classes. 

And most majorly, what about those children who are disabled or are from disadvantaged communities like slums? 

We need to realise that, the above-mentioned situations are being faced by millions of students across the world and particularly in our country, India. 

So, “where will be us as a country 1 year from now?” appears to be a strongly necessary question as compared to our primary topic, as this pandemic’s never-ending uncertainty is somewhat diluting our youth’s and country’s future by making us educatively paralysed. What’s depressing is that our government always stays unsettled with their regulations and decisions.

When education is discussed for our country, how can the education hubs stay out of the discussion?
