Assist TB patients and claim IT rebate in UP

In Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Department has partnered with the Red Cross to provide support for TB patients. Individuals offering nutritional aid through Red Cross can benefit from tax exemptions. State TB officer Dr. S Bhatnagar highlighted the initiative, mentioning the ease of supporting patients without the burden of purchasing supplies.

Those interested in contributing to TB patients can now do so through the Red Cross, with the added incentive of a 50% tax rebate under section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Dr. Bhatnagar emphasized the direct impact donors can have on patients, with the health department facilitating the distribution of the aid kits. Donors are kept informed on the impact of their contributions, further motivating them to participate in the initiative.

The collaboration between the Uttar Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Department and the Red Cross aims to alleviate the financial strain on TB patients and their families. By providing a platform for individuals to support patients through donations, the initiative not only benefits those in need but also encourages community involvement in healthcare support services. With tax exemptions available for donors, the program seeks to incentivize contributions towards improving the well-being of TB patients in the state.
