Bhavish Aggarwal’s ‘Pronoun Illness’ Post on X Goes Viral, Triggering Debate Amid Netizens
Bhavish Aggarwal, renowned CEO of OLA, founder of OlaKrutrim, an AI company, took to Twitter and slammed LinkedIn. This occurred after the latter removed one of his posts where the CEO mentioned “pronoun illness”.
According to Business Today, Bhavish Aggarwal claimed that LinkedIn’s platform AI is “imposing a political ideology on Indian users.” Thus, his post on X, formerly Twitter, garnered hundreds and thousands of reactions.
He wrote the following on X:
“Dear LinkedIn, this post of mine was about YOUR AI imposing a political ideology on Indian users that’s unsafe, sinister. Rich of you to call my post unsafe! This is exactly why we need to build our own tech and AI in India. Else we’ll just be pawns of other’s political objectives.”
In the same post, the CEO attached a snapshot from LinkedIn where it was mentioned gender pronouns, that subsequently went viral.
Notably, a few days ago, Bhavish Aggarwal shared a post on LinkedIn where he slammed gender pronouns. When he asked LinkedIn’s AI bot about himself, the bot regarded him as “they.”
For those who are unaware, “the pronoun is used for trans people or the ones who neither identify themselves as female nor male, or the ones who decide not to reveal their gender identity.
Thus, when LinkedIn removed the post stating that it was against “platform’s Professional Community Policies,” it made Agarwal furious.

Even within a few hours of sharing, the post garnered more than 7.3K likes and 200K+ views. Netizens reacted to the CEO’s post and it’s going viral.
In regard to this, one user wrote, “Absolutely agree.” While the other wrote, “Damn, this was your original intention all along.”
Another wrote, “Then you will ban someone else according to your own ideology.”
Bhavish Aggarwal’s said post has triggered a debate on the use of gender pronouns in the country amid social media users.
