Lucknow, March 17 (IANS) – Bundelkhand, known for its arid and underdeveloped nature, is now on the path of rapid progress. Projects worth over Rs 10 lakh crore have kickstarted in the region, making it the upcoming energy hub of Uttar Pradesh, particularly in the field of solar energy generation.

The ground-breaking ceremony marked the initiation of around 10 solar energy projects in Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba districts of Bundelkhand. These projects are set to generate over 3,000 megawatts of electricity, contributing significantly to the region’s energy production.

Under the Yogi Adityanath government, several development and infrastructure projects were launched in Bundelkhand since 2017 to attract investments. The recent launch of 29 major projects worth approximately Rs 30,000 crore further highlights the commitment to boosting development in the region.

In Jhansi, multiple solar power projects are in progress, including a 600 MW plant by Tusco costing Rs 3,430 crore, a 100 MW plant by Fourth Partner Energy Private Ltd worth Rs 1,200 crore, and a 135 MW project by Sun Source Energy costing Rs 600 crore. These projects are expected to provide significant employment opportunities.

Lalitpur will witness the establishment of a 600 MW solar power plant by Tusco at an investment of Rs 3,450 crore. Similarly, Surya Urja Four Private Ltd will set up a 10-15 MW project in the region, creating job opportunities for 200 individuals.
